Tyler’s Trip

Shout out to Tyler from Martinsville, first time kayaker who came on his own. He overshot the takeout at Rothrock’s Mill, accidentally paddling nearly 25 miles when he stopped to call us. He met some genuine locals who offered fluids and advice. We are posting this just so Tyler’s roommates will believe him. This really did happen. Just so you know Tyler you were the best part of my day. I really enjoyed meeting you. The stop at Hardee’s was awesome and the staff enjoyed the cheeseburgers. In honor of Tyler’s first solo trip 2025, we are inviting you to join in on the fun!

The first half of your journey will begin behind our gift shop. You will enjoy all Blue River offers including rapids, islands, sand bars, nature, wildlife, cave views, and springs with a stop at the ruins of Rothrock’s Mill. The take-out is 300 feet on the left past the only bridge you go under. Our staff will meet you with a boxed lunch (see pricing), drinks and snacks. You now have the option to continue on the experience or come back to base. If you do not arrive at this, take out spot by 2:00PM, you will not be able to continue on the trip.

Once you have completed the first part of your trip, you will continue on your adventure, just as Tyler did, for another 11 miles on the beautiful Blue River. You will experience more rapids and wildlife. At the end of your trip, our staff will meet you at the Blue River Chapel take out and bring you back to the gift shop. The last pick up is 8pm.
